Review Monday- Mac Fix+

Hey Pretty Ladies,

Hope you all are doing great. Another week is ahead of us and its review Monday again. This week I will be reviewing Mac Fix+, from my haul from Saudi Arabia if you want to check that out click here . Well ive never owned any mac products until recently, since mac is expensive in Malaysia & Saudi Arabia, So I did a lot of research before deciding what I was going to get and Mac Fix+ was one of the few products that i picked up.

So lets get on with the review and see if Mac Fix+ does what it's supposed to & is it worth buying...

For those of who don't know what Mac Fix+ is, it is a skin refresher & a finishing spray. It has a soothing moisture mist that refreshes the skin and finishes the make up.

The Packaging

I love the packaging, the bottle comes with a spray nozzle which can be twisted into a locked position and i take this with me to uni and hasn't leaked. And the top can be twisted off in case you want to transfer the product into a different bottle.

    The top

The Ingredients

Water,Glycerin(Moisture retention), Butylene Alcohol,Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber for anti inflammatory properties), Fruit Extract,Chamomilla Recutita Extract (To Calm and Sooth skin), Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (Antibacterial properties), Tocopheryl Acetate (Heals the skin),Caffeine (Simple plain caffeine), Panthenol,Arginine,PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil,PPG-26-Buteth-26,Fragrance,Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol.

The Review

What Mac say's:
An aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes make-up. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up.

MY Review:

When i first prayed Fix+ didn't like the smell, it smelled like a floral sent but after the second spray i couldn't get enough of it. It felt so fresh and refreshing, i am actually addicted to it now.

The mist from the bottle is very fine and soothing, although when sprayed up close your face becomes sticky, not sure why but i suggest spraying it about 12" away from your face since this distributes the product evenly.

OK here is the thing this works perfectly as a skin refresher, but not so much as a setting spray. But this product is perfect to Spritz on if you think you have over powdered, what this does is it gets rid of the excess powder so you don't look cakey. What i do is i spray fix+ on a cosmetic sponge and dab my foundation all over, this give you a flawless finish.

Now coming to the factor of if this product is worth the money. Well if it worked as a finishing spray i would say yes, but just as a skin refresher not so much, i could just buy avene spring water for just 17 bucks instead of spending 76 bucks on the same thing from mac. Although fix+ is a multipurpose product, it is a luxury everyone cant afford.

How i use fix+

- I spray this as a moisturizer before applying my foundation, what this does is since fix+ contains glycerin which has moisture retaining properties, it keeps moisture trapped in the skin and helps to keep your face moisturized all day long. I have oily skin and it does not make my face look oily.

- As a skin refresher.

- As a toner if you have dry skin this is perfect. Its great for oily skin as well.

- I spritz this on after applying powder to get rid of cakeyness.

- I use this on a cosmetic sponge to apply my foundation.

- I use this as a mixing medium for loose pigments for easy application and gives the pigment a creamy texture

- When i use this with some shimmer eye shadows it give it that extra metallic effect.

- When i feel as though my skin looks cakey in the afternoon I spritz this all over and re apply my foundation or powder foundation.

Extra info

- Its good for people who suffer from Rosacea, Eczema or dry dehydrated skin as many contain calming ingredients.

- Don’t spray fix+ directly into your eye shadow or foundation when the product dries the surface becomes hard and it will be prone to bacterial contamination.

In a nutshell

Pros:

- Great as a skin refresher
- can be used with foundation for a flawless finish
- can be used as a toner
- can be used to get rid of cakeyness
- as a mixing medium for pigments
- great for people with dry skin

Cons-

- Cant be used as a setting spray
- The price

I would rate this product 8/10

And i would re purchase this again and i would recommend this product to everyone. But if your looking for a finishing spray this is not the product for you.

Quantity: 100 ML/3.4 US FL OZ

Review Monday- Maybelline Magnum Volum Express Waterproof Mascara

hi loves,

I know is been ages since ive posted, i missed blogging a lot. I will be continuing as usual pretty soon so bare with me. So today i will be reviewing Maybelline Magnum Volum Express Waterproof Mascara in Black, wow that is a mouth full :).  If you want to check out my mascara junkie haul click here

let me tell you how i ended up buying this mascara, i had been wanting colossal for a while now, i looked up reviews and stuff so when i was in the store i saw the yellow tube and i picked it up without even checking if it was colossal, and i ended up with Maybelline Magnum Volum Express instead. And i even picked up the wrong colour i picked up washable brown instead of black. I went back and purchased black again since i couldn't return it. I know sucks rite.

lets get started with the review

What Maybelline claims
* 9X more volume
* Collagen formula pumps & volumizes lashes giving that luscious look
* seeks out the smallest lashes and coats them evenly
* no clumping

The Brush

I love the brush, its exactly like the one from falsies, since it has a lot of bristles it would help coat all of your lashes.

The Review

My bare lashes

My lashes with two coats of mascara

My lashes side view

Ive curled my lashes prior to applying mascara. I applied two coats of magnum on to my lashes. I am not sure if you can see in the picture, but it took a while for this mascara to dry, but fortunately it didn't smudge and cause raccoon eyes . It did coat my lashes evenly and give it a good definition, but i didn't get that false lash effect like it did with the falsies. When i look for a mascara i actually look for volume, lots and lots of it, and if you noticed in first picture where my lashes are bare, you can see that i have a lot of lashes, but once the product was applied my lashes clumped.

And this product is a pain to get off, well if your using garnier make up remover milk that is, or even if you use a cleansing oil. No matter how much i tried it wouldn't come of. But if you use a make up remover it removes the mascara off in a few swipes.

In a nutshell

Pros

- water proof
- lasts all day
- no smudging
- holds the curl
- affordable
build-able

Cons

- difficult to remove with remover milk
- doesn't volumize much
- clumps slightly
- would be hard to achieve volume with thin short lashes

I would rate this product 7.5/10

i would recommend this mascara to those who have full lashes and just want a few coats of mascara. Actually i am not disappointed with this product i just wish it would add extra volume.

A tube of Maybelline Magnum mascara retails at RM35.90 at watson or guardian.

Review Monday- Maybelline Falsies Mascara

Hi lovelies,

Its been a long time since ive posted, sorry about that ive been so busy with uni. I am done with some of my work and i am taking a break to write a review on Maybelline Falsies Mascara. If you want to check my mascara haul click here.

so lets get on with the review.

Everyone has been talking about the falsies, when i first read and watched the reviews i knew i had to try it out my self and see what the fuss was all about.

ok here is what the mascara claims

The Claims:
False lashes, instantly
• Patented Spoon Brush fans out lashes from corner-to-corner, while our Pro-Keratin formula instantly builds volume without clumping
• Unique flexible wand helps to lift and separate lashes to provide the look of 300% more visible, fuller lashes, no gaps from any angle
• Contact lens safe and ophthalmologist-tested
• Waterproof, also available in Washable formula

The Brush

The brush is curved such that it would fit the curve of your lashes. i loved that the brush has alot of bristles, this would help coat all the lashes.

The Review

My Bare Lashes

My lashes with two coats of mascara

My lashes side view

When i applied this mascara i noticed with one coat my lashes were evenly coated. I applied two coats to give it that false lash effect. Since the brush is curved, it coats the lashes while giving it a perfect curl. This mascara is build able but you need to make sure to do it right to avoid over clumping. Its actually best to build it up while its wet on your lashes. This mascara does actually make my lashes pop, it gives good volume and length although it did not look like false lashes to me, but it was close. Its actually great for a person who wants that false lash effect but does not know how to wear false lashes or does not want to wear them. And this mascara lasts all day.

The only downside to this product is taking off the mascara, i used Garnier make up remover milk, it does remove the mascara but there is still some left behind on my lashes. And some times a lash or two comes off while removing the mascara which sucks, i am not sure if anyone else faces this problem but i do. But i still love this product.

I rate this product 8.5/10 and i would recommend this to everyone.

You can find this product at any local drug store, here in Malaysia it retails for Rm 35.90

Review Monday- Essence No Limits volume mascara

Hi again,

Its review Monday again. This week i will be reviewing Essence No Limit Mascara (Volume Power Boost). If you want to check out my mascara haul click here. Lately ive been addicted to Essence Products. If you don't know about Essence, its well known European brand, and this brand promises good quality products that would fit even the tightest budget. And what i love about this brand is that its strictly against animal testing.

This is what the tube looks like. This is a special edition mascara that has been formulated with two other mascaras No limit and Power boost and it is supposed to give you unbeatable length, volume and lift at the same time.

Essence No limits power boost has an extra large brush that will give your eyelashes volume and length. I actually love the brush and the way it applies.

     My lashes without any mascara.

My lashes after applying Essence No Limits <power boost> volume mascara

My thoughts:

I actually love the mascara wand and the product glides on perfectly. Above is the pictures of my lashes with two coats of mascara. As claimed the mascara it did lengthen add volume and curl my lashes. Although i can feel the mascara on my lashes, when i blink, it doesn't bother me that much, as it gets better after a couple of minutes. But i still love this mascara. This mascara lasts the whole day, and the curl does stay in place. I did take a shower with this mascara on it didn't come off until i rubbed my eyes.

The tube contains 0.23 fl.oz/ 7 ml of product..

I rate this product 8/10

In a nutshell:

Pros

* Glides on easily
* It lengthens adds volume and curls
* Stays on the whole day
* Doesn't come off until you take it off

Cons

* The mascara can be felt on the lashes

Price & Availability:

This product retails for Rm 11.90 and can be found at Watson's and you can check out Essence for more details

What do you think of this weeks review? Have you tried anything from essence? or is it your first time finding out this brand? Let me know in the comments below. If you liked this post be sure to share it the links are below.

Review ( Blending Brushes )

Hello again,

Hope you ladies are doing fine? At least better than i am i hope, i got the flu and i have class at 9 in the morning, what a bummer.

Today i wanted to do a review on really affordable blending brushes, i found at the drug store.

The product comes in a plastic packaging, and im not sure what it says on there except for high quality powder brush.

The aluminium ferrule reminds me a lot of the real technique brushes. The ferrule it is extremely light weight, comfortable and easy to use.

These brushes are really soft against the skin. It fits perfect and snug on the crease and  blend's eye shadow like a dream.

I use the pink brush for blending eye shadow and the purple brush to apply concealer. I actually bought a purple one before and ive been using it for a couple of months now. That's why i decided to get two more. A girl can never have too many brushes right? I washed the brush once a week using olive oil and shampoo and it hasn't shed yet. Which is pretty impressive for a drug store make-up brush.

In a nutshell:

Pros

* Affordable
* super soft
* Blends eye shadow really well
* Doesn't shed
* Light weight
* can be used with cream and powder products

Cons

None

Price and Availability

This product retails for Rm 7.30 each and is available at Jusco Wellness.

So what do you think of today's review? Have you tried anything from this particular brand? or is it your first time reading about it? Let me know in the comments below.. If you liked this post be sure to share it the links are below. Until next time...
